Job Description

BrightForge Digital is seeking a Mid-Level Machine Learning Engineer to help build and deploy intelligent, data-driven features across our modern AI product ecosystem. You will work closely with software engineers, product designers, and data teams to develop ML models that power real-time analytics, personalization, and automation.

This is a fully remote position open to UK & EU-based applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality, scalable front-end applications using React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Build reusable UI components and contribute to internal design systems.
  • Optimise platform performance, accessibility, and SEO across devices.
  • Collaborate with designers (Figma) to translate UX/UI concepts into production-ready code.
  • Integrate front-end experiences with backend services via REST APIs and GraphQL.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.
  • Implement automated testing to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Work asynchronously in a remote-first, collaborative engineering culture.

Required Technical Skills

  • Expert-level JavaScript & TypeScript
  • Advanced React, Next.js, and modern CSS frameworks
  • Strong understanding of HTML/CSS, responsive design, and UI performance
  • Experience with Git / GitHub workflows
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and GraphQL
  • Experience with Automated Testing (Jest, Playwright, Cypress)
  • Basic knowledge of Docker and remote dev setups
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and architectural thinking

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG standards)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)
  • Design-system contributions or UI engineering experience
  • Performance profiling and lighthouse optimisation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
    OR
  • Vocational/technical diploma with strong portfolio
    (Equivalent experience also welcome.)
