Role Overview

We’re looking for a Remote Backend Engineer with strong experience in Node.js and TypeScript to help build high-performance APIs, backend services, and scalable cloud-native solutions for client projects. You’ll collaborate closely with frontend developers, product teams, and QA to ship reliable, secure, and maintainable backend features.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript
  • Build robust, well-documented REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Work with SQL databases and contribute to schema design and optimization
  • Implement automated tests to ensure reliability and stability
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional communication
  • Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and best practices

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript
  • Experience with Express or similar backend frameworks
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and API security
  • Comfort working with SQL databases
  • Familiarity with Docker and modern CI/CD tools
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously in a remote setup
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, etc.)
